About Me

TLDR: Attended Occidental College in LA, majored in sociology and minored in psychology. Spent 3 years working in marketing, design, and branding in the Bay Area. I have been in product design for over 2 years and I am currently at Not That, This.

I attended Occidental College in Los Angeles where I majored in sociology and minored in psychology. I love learning about what makes people tick and understanding human behavior. In college, I conducted psychological behavioral research studying rats, to help understand how personality traits impact certain behaviors, and helped present our findings at the Western Psychological Association conference. I am also extremely interested in technology and its impact on people and society. I wrote my senior thesis, which received academic distinction, about YouTube and the behaviors of users in how they respond to video content. After college, I started working in marketing, design, and branding - first at Sparkiverse, a small tech education company, and then at Compass, a real estate tech company. In these roles, I realized that I really enjoyed the design work I had the opportunity to do. However, I wanted to incorporate my psychology background and aptitude for research, analysis, and problem solving, with design. When I came across user experience/product design, I instantly developed a passion for it and realized it fit my skills and talents extremely well. I worked as a freelance product designer, at a start up called breathing.ai, and am currently working at the agency Not That, This.

As a product designer, I am able to bring in my sociology and psychology background, my knowledge of branding and design, and my love for technology together to build engaging and beautiful websites and mobile apps. Guided by compassion and empathy, I use my design and analytical skills to build beautiful and user friendly digital designs. My deep desire to help others drives me to make my designs accessible for all people and ensure they have a positive and impactful experience. What makes me a good product designer is my attention to detail, understanding of human behavior, my creativity, design skills, analytical problem solving skills, communication, and presentation skills.
